Monster Yume

 

The project: This project was Commissioned by the center for digital media as part of my master`s degree.

 

My role: Project Manager and lead 3-D artist.

 

My responsibilities: I was responsible for the project management and all 3-D assets as well as textures and environment modeling.

 

What I learned: as the project manager on this project, I learned how to balance my Team members schedules with the project Schedule requirements. This helped me not to stress out too much when team members were busy on other things. Furthermore I also learned some more options and methods for the use oftools  in the agile method.

 

Project Description: 

The goal of the project is to have a showcase demo ready and well crafted Virtual Reality experience that will engage the attendees of Evolution of Gaming Interactive Exhibition, Summer 2014.


We delivered a unique VR gaming experience, Monster Yume, in which the player goes on a rampage as Yeti, a mythical monster. Seeing through the eyes of the monster and controlling its movements by their own in the real world, the player pummels a Building to bits In the city of Vancouver!


To provide utmost immersion and presence in the VR environment, we are integrating multiple technologies such as motion recognition devices, head mounted displays. The most feasible technologies identified so far are the Oculus Rift DK1 for presence in VR and the Kinect v2 for full body motion sensing.

 

 

 

 

Software that was used:Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Mudbox, Adobe Photoshop and Unity 3D pro
